The Opportunity
Our Client is seeking a Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its premier defense practice in White Plains, NY. This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. The ideal candidate is a sharp litigator with a deep understanding of medical legal issues, passionate about defense advocacy, and dedicated to delivering high-quality results in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of medical malpractice and professional liability matters from inception through resolution.
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, non-parties, and expert witnesses.
- Draft complex pleadings, substantive motions, and appellate briefs.
- Represent clients in court for preliminary conferences, oral arguments, and trial proceedings.
- Analyze medical records and consult with expert witnesses to develop defense strategies.
- Collaborate with partners and trial teams on high-exposure litigation and settlement negotiations.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the New York State Bar.
- 2–7+ years of experience in medical malpractice or complex insurance defense litigation.
- Exceptional skills in legal research, writing, and oral advocacy.
- Ability to translate complex medical data into persuasive legal arguments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage discovery deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between [$140,000 – $210,000 annually]. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
