Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys in the preparation, filing, and management of all court documents.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case proceedings.
  • Organize and maintain legal documents in a paper or electronic filing system.
  • Prepare affidavits, legal correspondence, and other documents for attorneys.
  • Coordinate law office activities such as subpoena delivery.
  • Locate and interview witnesses, take witness statements, and arrange for witness appearances at court.
  • Assist with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits, and trial binders.
  • Provide administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectiveness.
  • Handle communication with clients, witnesses etc.
  • Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and providing timely reminders.
  • Qualifications
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in matrimonial law.
    • Strong knowledge of legal research databases and legal bibliographies.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and tact.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other legal research tools.
    • A paralegal degree or certificate is preferred.
    • Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols, and court systems.
    • Experience in maintaining and organizing legal files.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
    • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
