Uncaged Innovations is a biomaterials start-up leveraging biotechnology and nature to recreate bovine and exotic leather. Demand for animal alternatives is rapidly growing across industries—from fashion to automotive—in search of more sustainable and ethical solutions.

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team. This person will play a key role in managing the packing and shipment of product samples to current and prospective customers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, takes pride in getting the details right, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This position starts as a part-time contract role but can evolve into a full-time position.

• Prepare and pack samples and materials for shipment to clients, partners, and collaborators.
• Manage the end-to-end shipping process: labeling, carrier selection, drop-off/scheduling pickups, and tracking.
• Maintain detailed records of outgoing shipments, including recipient info, materials sent, and tracking numbers.
• Monitor inventory of packaging materials and reorder as needed.
• Coordinate closely with the lab and commercial teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Organize and maintain the sample area to ensure easy access and quality control.
• Assist with process improvements to increase shipping efficiency and accuracy.
• Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and instruments for experiments.
• Keep the laboratory workspace clean and organized.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures and results.
• Assist in the ordering and restocking of laboratory supplies.
• Perform tasks around the facility including washing labware, disposing of laboratory waste in accordance with established procedures, and cleaning as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and laboratory regulations.
• Assist team in applying for certifications and grants.
• Perform technical testing of material to ensure product performance.
• Support team with manufacturing and production scale-up activities.
• Manage time independently, ensure proper documentation in laboratory notebook, and comply with all safety and quality standards.

• Must be very responsible and reliable.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity for handling laboratory equipment.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher is a plus.
• Previous experience in shipping, fulfillment, inventory, or logistics is preferred but not required.
• Basic familiarity with shipping platforms (e.g., UPS, Fed Ex, USPS) is a plus.
• Previous lab or manufacturing experience is a bonus but not necessary.

Onsite position in White Plains, NY; part-time or contract, with the possibility of expanding to full-time in the future

$20-23 / hour
