Plant Manager – White Plains, NY

The Plant Manager will supervise the production and repackaging of compressed and liquid gases into cylinders, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate tasks of workers involved in production and repackaging of gases into cylinders.
  • Correct unsafe acts or conditions promptly and assign job tasks based on customer needs, stock levels, and worker expertise.
  • Operate and maintain plant equipment safely, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and company policies and regulations.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for job assignments.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and improve plant performance.
  • Implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Modify working conditions and equipment use to increase crew efficiency.
  • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed, conduct regular safety training and documentation.
  • Interpret company policies, enforce safety regulations, and investigate and report injuries or accidents within 24 hours.
  • Analyze and resolve work‑related problems, assisting workers when needed.
  • Recommend and initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, disciplinary measures, and terminations.
  • Handle associate issues and grievances effectively.
  • Manage and lead subordinate supervisors, motivating workers to achieve goals.
  • Provide coaching and corrective action promptly for poor or unacceptable performance.
  • Train new workers and cross‑train associates.
  • Maintain time and production records, approve overtime when essential while keeping it within acceptable levels.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum five years of industry experience, including at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage metrics and tools to improve production efficiency.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds or more with material handling equipment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage diverse and challenging situations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Self‑starter, well organized, capable of working independently.
  • Detail oriented with accurate compliance documentation.
  • Commitment to product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Forklift operation required.
  • Preferred: Prior experience with SAP; experience with compressed/packaged gases.
