Infusion RN, Per Diem – Days

• Provide direct patient care in the outpatient Infusion Center under the direction of the Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Manager
• Collaborate with patients, families/significant others, peers, physicians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Assess patient needs and plan, implement, and evaluate medical and nursing regimens
• Provide age-specific care including biophysical, psychosocial, education, safety/environment, and discharge planning
• Recognize and prioritize patient-care and unit-based issues and address them with appropriate actions
• Communicate and collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, and families
• Integrate patient rights into work practices
• Utilize and monitor infection-control methods
• Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives
• Complete competency requirements and attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings
• Utilize cost-containment practices
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including dress code, code of conduct, customer service, attendance, and annual physical submission requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current New York State license and registration
• BSN (or MSN) required for all RNs hired after 1/1/18
• Knowledge of current nursing, medical, and health trends and practices in patient care
• ACLS required as of June 1, 2021
• BCLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Direct oncology-care nurses must have current cancer-specific specialty certification or complete 36 cancer-related continuing-education nursing contact hours every 3 years
• Three years of RN experience preferred
• Chemotherapy RN experience preferred
• Successful completion of a Chemo-Immunotherapy course preferred
• Successful completion of Department and Unit Orientation Programs
• Clinical proficiency

• Communication, problem-solving, planning, organizing, attention to detail, judgment, decision-making, and stress tolerance
• Ability to move freely at least 85% of the time and remain stationary for extended periods
• Ability to transport objects up to 50 pounds and move patients of all weights with minimum assistance or assistive equipment
• Ability to work with continuous interruptions and in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
• Ability to detect and respond to emergency sounds/signals
• Ability to operate computers, equipment, and other devices continuously
• Ability to concentrate on fine detail with interruptions for over 60 minutes and understand and remember multiple related tasks

Demonstrates clinical proficiency in direct patient care within an outpatient Infusion Center, emphasizing effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Holds necessary certifications and licenses while adhering to hospital policies and infection-control methods.
