Field Service Mechatronic ApprenticeWhat We Are Looking For
We are hiring a Mechanical/Electrical apprentice to work on and fix industrial printing machines. The role requires extensive travel, flexibility, a 24‑36 month commitment, and a hunger for learning.
Program DetailsDuring the apprenticeship you’ll train with a starting base salary of $50,000
, paid travel expenses, a $61 per diem, and full employee benefits during the first year. Successful completion will lead to a career as a field‑service representative.
- Build knowledge of mechanical and electrical processes in an operational environment.
- Assist field‑service personnel during installation and maintenance of Heidelberg equipment, both in the field and at company facilities.
- Provide exemplary customer service: understand customers’ needs and explain work required to restore equipment operation.
- Maintain regular attendance and timeliness at customer sites.
- Perform overtime or weekend work when needed.
- Specialize as an electrical/mechanical apprentice on printing press equipment.
- Ability to travel 80–100 % of the time during the apprenticeship.
- Commitment to a 24‑36 month program.
- Background in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, robotics, or related fields.
- Hands‑on mechanical aptitude.
- Electrical knowledge.
- Basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Minimum age 21 + years due to travel and car policies.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication with all levels.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and reach sound conclusions.
- High School or equivalent (required).
- Hand tools: 1 year (required).
- Electrical: 1 year (preferred).
