Pay Grade: 101 ($33.25/hour)
Position Type: Temporary
Reports To: Coordinator of Design, Support, and Strategic Services
Primary
Purpose:
To provide effective online and blended learning leadership, technical assistance, and other related products and services for project stakeholders and local education agencies (LEAs) that will ensure improved student academic achievement across the state.
Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED. Technical certification(s) and/or Associate degree preferred.
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Team-oriented, collaborative attitude with ESC staff and LEA personnel
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of Canvas Admin duties or equivalent LMS management
- Basic knowledge of instructional technology, media, and materials development and implementation
- Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, word processing, Canvas LMS or equivalent, and Catalog
- Effective communication with non-technical users
- Self-motivated, able to take initiative and meet deadlines
Experience:
- Utilizing learning management systems
- Providing technical assistance
- Collecting data
- Managing enrollments and deploying courses
- Collect help desk data to identify patterns and assess issue magnitude; communicate or resolve issues as needed
- Navigate the LMS to resolve customer issues and answer questions
- Provide technical support to the online instructional design and Texas Reading Academies development teams
- Provide technical support to stakeholders and LEA personnel
- Research and recommend online learning technology solutions
- Perform Canvas Admin duties for statewide initiatives through TEALearn
- Provide leadership to team members as needed
- Equip help desk personnel for success
- Provide technical training and maintain just-in-time learning materials for clients and staff
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Public relations and people skills required; frequent interruptions; maintain professional composure under stress.
- Occasional prolonged and irregular hours; ability to move tables and chairs and load/unload boxes and materials; frequent region and state-wide travel.
- Prolonged use of a computer.
- Open cubicles/workstations.
Annual performance evaluation in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment contingent upon performance, need, and funding.
