Construction portfolios consist of projects located within other Commonwealth Agency facilities such as Department of Corrections (Correctional Institutions), Department of Human Services (State Hospital and Center Facilities), Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (Universities), Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (Readiness Center and Veterans' Hospital), Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Flood Control, State Parks), and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Headquarter Building).
This position is home headquartered; however, daily travel to job sites in the following South Western Region counties is required:
Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Somerset, Washington, or Westmoreland County. In addition, you may occasionally be asked to travel to the following counties outside of the South Western Region:
Bedford, Blair, Butler, Clarion, Elk, Forest, or Lawrence County.
This position supports the planning and progress of construction and renovation projects across the Commonwealth. Your work helps ensure project activities follow schedules, rules, and quality standards. As an Assistant Construction Project Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:
- Project Monitoring: Track construction progress and identify issues that may slow or disrupt work
- Technical Guidance: Provide direction to contractors and outside professionals on project expectations
- Quality Assurance: Confirm that materials, inspections, and testing meet required standards
- Change Orders: Review and evaluate proposed changes to determine their impact on project needs
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate project records through the department's electronic system
- Agency Coordination: Serve as a point of contact for agencies to reduce disruptions during construction activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday
- Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. - This position is home headquartered; however, daily travel to construction projects throughout the South Western Region is required. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $61,927.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of professional building construction administration, construction planning, or construction project engineering experience for renovations and new construction of commercial, institutional, or educational buildings; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession and maintenance of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C driver's license or equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
- You must reside in or be willing to relocate prior to employment to Allegheny, Armstrong, Cambria, Indiana, or Westmoreland County.
- You must be willing and able to travel to construction sites in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Somerset, Washington, or Westmoreland Counties in the South Western Region.
- You must be willing and able to travel to the following counties outside of the South Western Region if necessary for work:
Bedford, Blair, Butler, Clarion, Elk, Forest, or Lawrence. - You must be able to perform essential job functions.
