Position Overview

Holy Family Parish School is seeking a dynamic, proficient, and dedicated educator to serve as our Middle School ELA Teacher. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Reading and Writing instruction, capable of teaching a range of topics. We are looking for a teacher who provides students with an exceptional learning experience, ensures they achieve their maximum potential, and facilitates their growth in the Catholic tradition.

Performance and Responsibilities Professional Classroom Duties
  • Subject Mastery:
    Maintain a deep working knowledge of Reading, Writing, and Grammar topics, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
  • Instructional Excellence:
    Employ a wide range of teaching techniques to match the intellectual, emotional, and social levels of middle schoolers.
  • Standards-Based Teaching:
    Enhance instruction with a thorough understanding of Archdiocesan and State content standards.
  • Inclusive

    Education:

    Demonstrate knowledge or experience working with neurodivergent students by utilizing inclusive teaching strategies and providing necessary accommodations in collaboration with special education teachers.
  • Data & Assessment:
    Collect data on student achievement using electronic databases and grading software to drive instructional decisions.
Faith Leadership & Supervision
  • Spiritual Growth:
    Facilitate knowledge of the Catholic tradition and integrate Gospel values into the daily classroom culture.
  • Student Supervision:
    Ensure the classroom is supervised at all times; oversee students during Mass, liturgical celebrations, lunch, recess, and transitions.
  • Environment:
    Maintain a focused learning environment by keeping the classroom, lockers, and bulletin boards organized and attractive.
Collaboration and Professionalism
  • Parent Partnership:
    Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding the academic and social progress of their children.
  • Teamwork:
    Cooperate with staff on special projects and field trips; keep the principal informed of curricular decisions and student progress.
  • Growth:
    Attend faculty meetings and participate in Archdiocesan professional development to independently maintain a modern body of pedagogical knowledge.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary or Secondary Education with a focus on English.
  • Valid Wisconsin Teaching License (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Practicing Catholic preferred with a commitment to faith-based education.
  • Proficiency in Reading, Writing, and Grammar instruction
  • Strong classroom management skills and experience with diverse learning needs.
  • Clear background criminal records check.
