Overview

Outreach Business Office Informaticist - 1.0 FTE, Dayshift. This role supports the mission of St. Peter’s Health, the SPMG and its affiliates. It maintains Outreach Business Office software applications, coordinates program areas or projects, and designs and implements information systems to support core organizational functions in Outreach, Laboratory, and Diagnostic Imaging Informatics.

The Informaticist applies communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate and resolve application issues to maximize the benefit of informatics applications and systems investments. It serves as an informatics resource across Outreach Services, collaborating with clinicians, nurses and other health care providers to support care delivery and end-user satisfaction.

Responsibilities include planning and designing clinical and business solutions, facilitating data integration, and leveraging LIS, EMR and Diagnostic Services knowledge to improve safety, practice, productivity and patient care.

The Outreach Business Office Informaticist may complete other assignments based on ability or need.

  • Demonstrate Servant Leadership to align department and system goals with SPH Gold Standard
Knowledge/Experience

Three years of clinical lab scientist/medical lab technician experience as a generalist in a hospital setting and/or three years of radiographic procedures experience. Two years of computer technical school and/or two years’ experience in the computer field is desired. Background with EMR, LIS, and Diagnostic Services systems is desired.

Education

Graduation from an approved MLT/CLS program and/or School of Diagnostic Imaging Technology is required. A Bachelor's degree in science is preferred. Meets CLIA criteria for testing personnel or comparable certification in Diagnostic Imaging.

License/Certification/Registry

Technical National and State Licensure in Laboratory and/or current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in one or more modalities.
