Quality Assurance Engineer (Retail / Web)

We need one QA contractor to join our .NET engineering team, responsible for modernizing internal applications and retail‑facing systems. This role will partner with a fast‑moving development team modernizing legacy .NET applications into Node.js and more modern and Reactive UI frameworks.
Responsibilities- Support QA across UX redesigns, application‑skins, and business logic combinations.
- Validate custom retail applications against business rules, mapping logic, and workflows.
- Work with a high‑speed team, adhering to solid QA structure without slowing delivery.
- Guide developers in implementing unit and integration testing practices; advise on quality gates.
- Validate integrations with surrounding enterprise systems (e.g., D365, Kibo, Stibo, OMS, other legacy retail apps).
- Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to ensure functional alignment.
- Track QA activities in ADO, including test evidence and defect triage.
- 3+ years QA experience in Enterprise Retail applications.
- Experience testing legacy‑to‑modern tech migrations (e.g., .NET to Node.js and React).
- Strong understanding of business logic mapping and retail workflows.
- Comfortable validating UX design changes and ensuring functional parity in new systems.
- Familiarity with APIs, SQL Server databases, and custom integration points.
- Experience working closely with rapid development teams with limited documentation.
- Knowledge of modern frameworks (React based) and developer testing approaches.
- Prior experience guiding developers on unit/integration testing best practices.
- Exposure to retail omni‑channel workflows and custom retail applications.
Independent, adaptable QA professional who understands the “why” behind QA, can balance speed and quality, and thrives in collaborative, fast‑moving environments.
Hourly rate: $58.00–$63.00 per hour (contract period)
