PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION

PURPOSE:

The Marketing Intern supports marketing,communications, and promotional activities within Averill Hospitality. Theintern will gain practical experience in promoting hotels, restaurants, events,and guest experiences while developing skills in digital marketing, content creation, and customer engagement.

The ideal candidate is organized, enthusiastic,service-oriented, and interested in hospitality, tourism, marketing, or communications.

KEY

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in planning and implementing marketing campaigns for hotel, restaurant, resort, or hospitality services.
  • Create and schedule content for social media platforms, websites, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Support the development of captions, blogposts, brochures, flyers, presentations, and other marketing copy.
  • Help maintain and update website content,listings, menus, offers, and promotional information.
  • Monitor social media engagement, online reviews, and customer feedback.
  • Assist with responding to guest inquiries and directing feedback to the appropriate department.
  • Support email marketing activities,including campaign content.
  • Coordinate with revenue management, sales,front-office, food and beverage, and events teams.
  • Assist in promoting special offers,seasonal packages, dining promotions, events, and loyalty programs.
  • Help organize and promote hospitality events, media visits, influencer activities, and community partnerships.
  • Collect marketing data and assist with preparing reports on campaign performance.
  • Track metrics such as reach, engagement,website traffic, inquiries, bookings, and conversions.
  • Ensure that marketing materials accurately reflect the brand, services, prices, and guest experience.
  • Perform other marketing and administrative duties as assigned.

  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing tools.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.

QUALIFICATIONSTANDARDSEDUCATION
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree, diploma, or certificate in Marketing, Hospitality,Tourism, Communications, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE/ LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, content-management systems, email marketing platforms, or analytic stools is an advantage.
SCHEDULE/ HOLIDAYS/ PTO:

This position requires regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. A Marketing Intern is expected to keep a 5-day-a-week schedule butadjust as needed according to business needs; a 6-day week may be required during peak business periods. A workweek of up to 45 hours per week can be expected; however, it can be more or less,depending on business needs. Working evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Holidays and PTO are in accordance with the AH Non-Exempt Employee policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Typically, PTO will not be permitted during June 15 - September 15 and December 15 – January 5.

NOTICE:

Standing, bending,stooping, and lifting weights up to and including 20 lbs. may be required. The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
