Position Summary
Kids Peace is seeking Teachers for immediate openings within our Residential program located in Orefield, PA. Our Teachers will provide education for Kids Peace students in a highly structured and safe environment. Also, where applicable, provide supervision of the classroom teacher aide.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Education — Science. Secondary certification, can also consider middle school.
- PA Teaching Certificate required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Experience with acute emotionally challenged children or adolescents preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- SCM certification (Level I or II preferred but Observer Status minimally required), CPR/First Aid certification that will be acquired during New Hire Orientation.
- Assess each child’s social, educational and emotional needs and intervene therapeutically to promote learning and positive peer and adult interactions.
- Complete lesson plans, due process, report cards, transcripts, behavior scales, and treatment documentation on established schedules.
- Plan and carry out weekly lesson plans. Including activities that introduce, reinforce, review and enrich skills.
- Participate in a team approach, including other teachers, parents, social workers, and psychiatrists in order to review progress, develop and implement appropriate treatment plans.
- Supervise classroom management and primary crisis intervention utilizing positive behavior management strategies.
- Administer, score, and evaluate standardized tests for each child on an established schedule.
- Where applicable, instruct the classroom aide to all necessary job responsibilities and assist in writing their annual evaluation.

Pay and BenefitsCompetitive pay: $40,000.00 — $54,000.00 annually, based on education and experience.
