The Wine Sales Representative is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, including retail consumers, restaurants, and other local businesses in Lehigh Valley, PA. This on-site role involves actively promoting the company’s wine portfolio, conducting in-person tastings, explaining product features, and offering pairing suggestions to drive sales and repeat business. Day-to-day tasks include visiting accounts, presenting new products, managing orders, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring attractive, compliant merchandising and displays.
The Wine Sales Representative also tracks sales performance, gathers customer feedback, and collaborates with the team on promotions and events to support overall revenue growth. This position requires regular travel within the Lehigh Valley area and flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for tastings and special events.
- Strong wine knowledge, including familiarity with major varietals, regions, and basic tasting and pairing principles.
- Customer-facing sales experience, with the ability to build relationships, identify customer needs, and close deals in retail or hospitality environments.
- Clear and professional communication skills, including the ability to present products, explain technical information simply, and interact comfortably with diverse customers.
- Organizational and time-management abilities to plan daily routes, manage multiple accounts, track orders, and maintain accurate records.
- Comfort with basic technology tools, such as email, spreadsheets, point-of-sale systems, and mobile devices for order entry and reporting.
- Ability to work on-site and travel locally in Lehigh Valley, PA; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Prior experience in wine, beverage, restaurant, or hospitality industries is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and participate in ongoing wine education is essential.
- Capability to lift and move wine cases as needed and to stand for extended periods during tastings and events.
