Major Duties- As a Management and Program Assistant, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Provide administrative and technical support to the DLA organization through a wide range of functions utilizing professional and technical skills.
- Assist senior analysts in analyzing and evaluating the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of the organizations’ functions and programs.
- Collect, verify, compute, consolidate and review a variety of technical and statistical data to prepare reports and briefings.
- Identify and describe trends and/or problems, possible cause or explanations, make recommendations and refer to higher level analysts for in-depth study.
- Participate with co-workers in evaluating and refining processes to assure customer satisfaction and increased productivity.
- Maintain records of suspense actions and tracks suspense status through an automated system to ensure suspense’s are processed within the designated time frames or that extensions are granted before suspense due dates.

A. Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Develop and compile data or reports on program issues; make recommendations, clarify discrepancies, advise supervisor of problems and possible solutions in the administrative processes. Ability to operate independently to handle customer service tasks such as responding to inquiries or managing administrative problems in accordance with the priorities of the office. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
