Supervisory Financial Specialist; Accounts Payable

• Manages, directs and executes finance and accounting operations for a variety of customers requiring the development of policies and procedures unique to each serviced organization in an environment of constantly changing priorities and missions.
• Exercises accountability and leadership oversight of audits and operational reviews to ensure correct and proper execution of DoD guidance, policies, and procedures with respect to finance and accounting operations.
• Assists with resolving complex functional problems and affected customers.
• Coordinates and participates in the development and presentation of program training.
• Plans, manages and supervises the assigned division staff which consists of supervisory, and technical and clerical personnel (GS-05/GS-06 or GS-07).

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

analyzing financial and accounting operations to recommend process improvements; monitoring and evaluating financial systems to identify weaknesses and ensure compliance with internal controls; conducting reviews of financial policies, guidelines, data and documents in order to analyze the impact of financial legislation on finance/accounting operations; analyzing and evaluating operation reports from financial systems; and/or providing recommendations to management on improving finance/accounting operations.
