Position: Video journalist for Northern Stories
Join CBC/Radio-Canada as a Video journalist focused on Northern communities. This role emphasizes producing original digital content and covering significant regional stories.

Located in Whitehorse, this permanent position is ideal for candidates who possess a deep understanding of Canada’s Far North. With an emphasis on reporting current affairs affecting local residents, you will collaborate closely with teams in Iqaluit and Yellowknife. Your work will involve crafting compelling narratives and multimedia content, serving diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report on important environmental, economic, and social issues

• Create digital video content and write compelling online articles

• Develop and maintain a network of local contacts for news coverage

• Pitch and research original story ideas relevant to the community

• Arrange and conduct interviews with community members and leaders

Requirements:

• Three years of experience in journalism or video journalism

• Excellent storytelling and writing abilities in French and English

• Familiarity with the unique challenges of the Far North

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada’s journalistic standards
