Senior Environmental Assessment Advisor

YESAB is seeking a full-time Senior Assessment Advisor for a two-year term. This role emphasizes strong knowledge of the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act and requires experience in impact assessment, particularly in northern contexts. You will be responsible for strategic briefings and facilitating discussions around sensitive issues in environmental and socio-economic assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise the Assessment Director on key assessment projects

• Ensure compliance with natural justice and procedural fairness

• Collaborate with Assessment District Managers on deliverables

• Lead resolution of sensitive environmental and socio-economic issues

• Consult with stakeholders on assessment methodologies

Requirements:

• Degree in Environmental Science, Management or related field preferred

• Strong understanding of Yukon assessment legislation

• Experience in Indigenous group engagement

• Relevant impact assessment experience

• Ability to work legally in Canada
