STATEMENT OF JOB:
The Ndee Bah Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor provides direct clinical supervision to behavioral health professionals, technicians, and paraprofessionals in assessment, appropriate level of care recommendations, and treatment interventions. They collaborate with the Assistant Director of Integrated Health to implement direct care services and oversee various service settings, ensuring compliance with program contracts and requirements. Responsibilities include analyzing outpatient service needs, establishing clinical practice policies, managing, coordinating, and facilitating agency adult outpatient programs under the authority of Apache Behavioral Health Services.
The position primarily provides behavioral health care to clients undergoing dialysis treatment at the Ndee Bah Dialysis Center and works closely with the client's care team to integrate physical and behavioral health services, providing direct counseling services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide ongoing clinical and technical supervision; review application of clinical skills, provide coaching, identify areas for improvement, and recommend remediation in consultation with the Clinical Director.Ensure staff compliance with clinical training and supervision requirements.Assess professional capabilities of behavioral health staff and provide performance evaluations per Apache Behavioral Health Services standards.Review and sign all clinical documents in compliance with licensure, legal, and funding requirements.Collaborate with staff in de-escalation of client contacts requiring supervisory intervention.Provide direct clinical services as needed to maintain service levels during high volume surges or staffing shortages.Work with leadership to disseminate policy and program changes and assist with new program implementation.Coordinate communication with internal and external partners relevant to the program.Recommend modifications to program design to support innovations in mental health.Work with Billing and Quality Management Departments to implement quality assurance processes in compliance with licensure and funding requirements.Address diverse spiritual, emotional, and social needs using a trauma-informed care approach while maintaining professionalism and cultural awareness.Abide by all applicable policies, procedures, and standards of ABHS, White Mountain Apache Tribe, IHS, AHCCCS, and other authorities.Maintain and supervise client records in accordance with HIPAA, AHCCCS, ABHS, and other regulations.Supervise ethical policies and guidelines as per state laws and discipline-specific codes of ethics.Provide leadership and serve as a positive role model to clients and staff, treating everyone with dignity and respect.Participate in all required ABHS training.Report to and attend work punctually; communicate directly with supervisor regarding attendance issues.Perform other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree or higher in social work, professional counseling, marriage and family therapy, or psychology; valid Arizona license to practice independently.At least five (5) years of mental health service experience with one (1) year of clinical supervisory experience.Strong knowledge of mental health assessment, treatment planning, and interventions, along with supervisory skills.Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operation of office equipment.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including fingerprint clearance and background check.Preferred:
At least 3 years’ experience working with Native Americans.Experience in crisis intervention and managing co-occurring disorders preferred.Note: Preference given to qualified Indian candidates per the Indian Preference Act (Title 25, U.S. Code, Sections 472 and 473).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The physical requirements include standing, repetitive hand use, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Management reserves the right to assign duties as needed. Employment is at will and can be terminated at any time by either party.
