Adjunct Instructor of Mathematics – College of Integrated Studies

Job Duties

Teaching the following courses throughout the academic year:

  • MAT 091 and MAT 095 – Elementary Algebra
  • MAT 103 – Beginning and Intermediate Algebra
  • MAT 108 – Quantitative Reasoning
  • MAT 110 – College Algebra
  • MAT 113 – Trigonometry
  • MAT 210 – Topics in Finite Mathematics
  • MAT 221 – Calculus and Analytic Geometry I
Conditions of Appointment
  • No H‑1B or other work‑authorization visa sponsorship.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain authorization throughout the term.
  • UW‑Whitewater is not an e‑verify employer; STEM extensions are not options for work authorization.
Compensation

$1,667 per credit, with 15 credits equal to 1.0 Full‑Time Equivalent. Positions with more than 50% FTE will be salaried and payment will be commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. Benefits eligibility depends on course load and appointment length.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in mathematics, or
  • Master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching developmental and lower‑division college mathematics or co‑requisite support courses.
  • Experience using learning management software (Canvas).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in applicable safety rules, training, and drills.
