Admissions Counselor - ENROLL | Undergraduate Admissions

The Admissions Office at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks an Admissions Counselor (Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator II, AE084). This Admissions Counselor position assists prospective students in navigating the college selection process. This is a 12-month, full-time position that reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions, and will be responsible for recruiting, admitting and enrolling a talented and diverse student body from counties in central and northern Wisconsin.

This position will establish and maintain relationships with prospective students, parents, and high school counselors and will handle application review and admission decisions for students from the assigned territory. The individual will present information to prospective students during scheduled daily visit presentations, will assist during campus open house events, and will perform other duties as assigned by the director/assistant director.

In addition to general admission duties, this position is also responsible for the review and processing of applicants for fully online undergraduate degrees. Significant domestic travel is required, especially during the fall and spring recruitment seasons.

Compensation:
Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within the range of $47,000 - $53,000 commensurate with the candidate's education, related experience, and qualifications. Required Qualifications:

• Earned Bachelor's degree
• Valid driver's license (or ability to obtain a valid driver's license)
• Minimum of one-year experience in admissions, recruitment, higher education, K-12 system or marketing related field
• Strong written communication and public speaking skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fluency in Spanish and/or a second language
• Strong organizational and event planning skills
• Professional experience working with students and/or individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Experience with use of CRM (customer relationship management) systems, particularly Slate
• Familiarity with student information systems, particularly People Soft
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff and faculty

• Ability to interact respectfully with people with diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
• Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills.
