Role Description

This full-time, on-site Tool and Die Maker role is based in Whitewater, WI. The Tool and Die Maker will build, repair, and maintain tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds used in manufacturing operations, ensuring they meet production and quality requirements. Daily responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, setting up and operating machine tools, performing precision machining and fitting, and troubleshooting tooling issues on the shop floor.

The role also involves inspecting finished tools and dies for accuracy, performing preventive maintenance, collaborating with engineering and production teams on design improvements, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications
  • Strong machining and fabrication skills, including experience with mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T, with solid measurement and inspection skills.
  • Background in tool and die construction, maintenance, and repair for high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of metals, heat treatment, and material properties relevant to tooling and dies.
  • Ability to diagnose tooling issues, propose solutions, and collaborate with engineering and production teams.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement practices (such as Lean or 5S).
  • Relevant technical training or apprenticeship in tool and die making; prior experience in a manufacturing or energy-related industry is beneficial.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse, inclusive team.
