Per Diem Outpatient Surgery Center Nurse – Pre/Post Op
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Per Diem Outpatient Surgery Center Nurse specializing in pre-operative and post-operative care. Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients' health status before surgery and prepare them for procedures
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during pre-operative and post-operative phases
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions and recovery processes
- Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed medical records
- Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies during the perioperative period
Qualifications:
- Valid NJ RN license, ACLS, BLS certifications
- Proven experience in outpatient surgery, pre-op, and post-op nursing preferred
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work per diem shifts
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia protocols, and infection control standards
