Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)

Effective 2026-27 School Year (08/31/2026)

Reports To: Building Principal / Director of Special Education

Job Goal: To provide high‑quality services, assessments, and consultation across the district in collaboration with building‑based and district staff.

Essential Functions
  • Implement all aspects of Child Find, including referring, screening, evaluating, diagnosing and recommending intervention strategies for referred students.
  • Complete all assessments, including written reports within timelines mandated by IDEA.
  • Complete all progress reports within timelines mandated by IDEA.
  • Maintain written records of service delivery for all students.
  • Consult with administration, staff, and families regarding interventions and strategies for identified students.
  • Participate in and report evaluation results to IEP/504 eligibility meetings.
  • Observe students in their learning environments, as requested.
  • Provide direct clinical services to students in a variety of settings, as required.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with evaluation instruments and tools.
  • Medicaid session reporting.
  • Supervise SLPA's who service schools on their caseload.
  • Consult with other medical/clinical professionals, as needed.
Qualifications Required
  • Valid License to Practice as a Registered Speech and Language Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Qualifications Preferred
  • Previous experience working in a school setting (min. 1-3 years).
  • Experience working with all disability areas.
  • Experience in developing sensory diets and evaluating sensory needs.
  • Bi‑Lingual.
Evaluation / Terms of Employment
  • An Administrator of Special Education will evaluate performance.
