Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

Location: Whitman Counseling Center
Hours: 12 hours/week
Schedule: Flexible; includes coverage on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:00am–1:00pm (Telehealth possible)
Salary Range: $85–$90/hour
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Clinic Director

What You’ll Do:

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and treatment services to individuals receiving outpatient behavioral health services.

Psychiatric Assessment & Treatment
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Diagnose mental health and co-occurring disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that support recovery and wellness
  • Provide psychiatric medication management services, including Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) when appropriate
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust interventions based on clinical need
Client Care & Collaboration
  • Deliver client-centered psychiatric services through both in-person and telehealth platforms
  • Collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, care coordinators, and other members of the treatment team
  • Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary case consultation
  • Support integrated, holistic care approaches that improve outcomes for individuals served
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
  • Ensure compliance with BAMSI policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Adhere to all professional ethical standards and prescribing regulations
  • Maintain active licensure, certifications, and provider credentials
Program Support
  • Provide Saturday coverage on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:00am–1:00pm
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives as required
  • Support ongoing efforts to expand access to psychiatric and behavioral healthcare services
What You Bring:
Education
  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric Mental Health specialization required
Licensure & Certifications
  • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Active Massachusetts Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required
  • Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) required
  • Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration (MCSR) required
  • Current DEA Registration with controlled substance prescribing authority required
  • Active Medicare Provider Status required
  • Valid driver's license required
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of psychiatric clinical experience…
