Position: Experienced Concrete Finisher - $500 sign on bonus

Experienced Concrete Finisher

$500 sign on bonus to be paid $250 after 30 days and $250 after 60 days of full-time employment.

T&K Asphalt Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced, dependable, and safety-focused Concrete Finisher to join our growing Concrete Division. This position is responsible for performing a variety of commercial concrete installation and finishing tasks, including sidewalks, pads, curb work, and other flatwork applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong finishing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment while maintaining T&K's commitment to quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform concrete finishing for commercial flatwork, including sidewalks, pads, and other small to mid-sized concrete projects.
  • Finish, edge, joint, broom, and texture concrete surfaces to company quality standards.
  • Assist with concrete placement, grading, screeding, and finishing operations.
  • Perform curb work and related concrete construction as assigned.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Perform jack hammering, demolition, and concrete removal as required.
  • Assist with excavation, site preparation, grading, and forming activities.
  • Perform manual labor including wheelbarrowing concrete, shoveling, raking, and material handling.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site throughout all phases of work.
  • Perform daily inspection, cleaning, and basic preventative maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Communicate equipment damage, repair needs, or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Follow all directions provided by supervisors and foremen.
  • Comply with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job site requirements.
  • Assist with snow operations and snow removal activities during the winter season as assigned.
  • Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as operational needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Minimum of two (2) years of commercial concrete finishing experience required.
  • Knowledge of concrete placement, finishing techniques, curing methods, and surface preparation.
  • Experience operating concrete finishing tools and construction equipment.
  • Ability to read grades, elevations, and construction layouts preferred.
  • Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License required.
  • Valid DOT Medical Card required.
  • OSHA training required.
  • Massachusetts and Rhode Island Hoisting Licenses preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to following all company safety policies and procedures.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
  • Work is performed primarily outdoors on active construction sites.
  • Frequent exposure to extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, construction vehicles, dust, concrete materials, and other construction-related hazards.
  • May work with concrete products, sealants, curing compounds, fuels, and other potentially hazardous materials.
  • Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing, bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive hand movements throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and maneuver tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Exposure to loud noise levels and vibration associated with construction equipment.
  • Participation in winter snow operations may require work during evenings, overnight hours, weekends, holidays, and severe weather conditions.
Employment Conditions
  • This is a seasonal full-time position and is subject to seasonal layoff periods based on workload, weather conditions, and business needs.
  • Overtime, weekend work, holiday work, and flexible scheduling may be required.
  • Participation in winter snow operations may be required based on operational needs.
  • Employment is contingent upon maintaining a valid driver's license, DOT Medical Card, and any required certifications or licenses.
