• Salary per Whitmore Lake Education Association Contract for certified employees
• Base pay for a Bachelor's Degree is $19,286 annually
• Base pay for a Master’s Degree is $22,071 annually
• Work agreement available for non-certified employees on a substitute permit

Whitmore Lake Public Schools includes 3 buildings within a 2 mile radius in Whitmore Lake, MI. This position will require travel to all 3 locations including Whitmore Lake Elementary School, Whitmore Lake High School, and Go Like the Wind Montessori School.

You will provide direct English Language instruction to all levels of English Learners. The EL teacher will create lesson plans and acquire resources needed for instruction in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. You will also collaborate with general education teachers to share instructional strategies, accommodations, and tasks to benefit EL students in their classrooms. You will assist in proctoring WIDA screeners and WIDA ACCESS assessments.

An EL Teacher/tutor who can work independently to provide direct instruction to all EL students in the district, K-12. This includes individual and small group intervention outside of the classroom, and co‑teaching within the general education classroom, when appropriate.

• Highly Qualified Teacher with an endorsement in English as a Second Language (NS) or Bilingual Education (YA or YT), or
• Highly Qualified Teacher in a state‑approved endorsement program for English as a Second Language (NS or Y_)

• Master’s degree in TESOL, or
• Master's degree in ESL or Bilingual Education
• Spanish‑speaking competency
