Job Description

Join our dynamic automation services team as an Automation Services Engineer where you will spearhead various robotics projects for diverse clients. You will be a key player in programming, troubleshooting, and installing robotics systems, primarily utilizing Fanuc and ABB technologies. This role requires travel to various plants and sites, with projects typically lasting from one to three months, primarily based in Michigan but occasionally extending out of state.

Responsibilities
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot ABB and Fanuc robots for automated manufacturing processes.
  • Engage in projects involving various robotics systems such as Yaskawa and Kawasaki.
  • Utilize Roboguide or Robot Studio for robotic programming tasks.
  • Integrate and calibrate Cognex vision systems for part recognition, inspection, and guidance.
  • Develop and implement 2D and 3D vision solutions to support robotic applications.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to design and optimize robotic work cells.
  • Perform system testing, validation, and commissioning of robotic systems.
  • Maintain documentation including robot programs, vision configurations, and system layouts.
  • Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation efficiency and reliability.
Essential Skills
  • 4+ years of experience working in robotics automation for manufacturing.
  • Proficient in programming ABB and Fanuc robots.
  • Experience with robotic programming, troubleshooting, and installation.
  • Familiarity with Roboguide or Robot Studio.
  • Ability to develop and implement 2D and 3D vision solutions.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Yaskawa, Kawasaki, and other robotics systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of vision systems such as Cognex.
  • Strong collaborative skills for working with mechanical and electrical engineers.
Work Environment

Work primarily in a well-equipped office environment with a supportive team of 3-4 robotics professionals and a controls engineering team. Travel is required for project assignments, with most out-of-state projects allowing for return home on weekends. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Whitmore Lake, MI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
