This role will be a champion for Alkegen Industrial Solutions products, support the technical sale cycle, advising our customers through technical excellence of our products, applications, certification and regulatory demands. This is a role our customers rely on and a crucial position in the sales and support process.
Role Overview- Support Thermbond refractory installations
- ITM blanket, modules and Silplate Mass projects
- Rapid Fire (TCS) installations
- Wagstaff Billet installations
- Other REX products
- Assist contractors (supervisory role for existing contractors with knowledge; setup/training role for new contractors)
- Provide link between end-user and contractors (commercial contracts usually with end-users)
- Document installations and create installation reports
- Generate follow-up reports after installations (testimonials, data gathering)
- Thermal analysis follow-ups
- Able to set up gunning machine and peripheral equipment for tests & installations
- Gain knowledge of gunning equipment to be used on job sites as support for installations
- Familiar with maintenance schedule for gunning equipment
- Perform, as needed, maintenance on all equipment/tools for installation
- Aid with demonstrations for workshops
- Learn proper installation technique for all products
- Build metal and wood structures
- Follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures
- Write installation reports for internal and public distribution
- Travelling to job sites domestically and internationally
- Travel varies as per need but is expected to be 25-50% of the time (with some higher levels during busy seasons)
- Valid passport will be required for international travel
- Working extended or erratic hours while on customer installation
- Supporting Product Development and Quality Control Teams while working out of manufacturing facility.

- Chemical / Materials manufacturing background with significant "shop floor" exposure
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Self-starter and completer finisher
- Ability to turn complex problems into simple task driven solutions
- Practical thinker and problem solver
- Must be able to work flexible hours or weekends if required
- Experience with company materials, safety procedures and gunning equipment
- Preferred
- Science/ Engineering Higher Degree (Chemistry, Material Science)
- Experience with refractory and cementitious materials
- Proven experience working in CPI, HPI and metal process facilities
- At least 3 years of relevant technical work experience. Refractory experience highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Successful hire will be based out of the Whitmore Lake, MI facility.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items up to 22kg unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
PositionType/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Must be able to work flexible hours or weekends if required. Limited virtual work is considered.
