Controls Engineer
Our client, a leader in manufacturing and industrial solutions, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.
Location:
Arlington, Texas
Pay Range: $50/hr
Assignment duration: 1 year, with the possibility of extension
What's the Job?
- Design, develop, program, and support PLC- and HMI-based control systems for stamping operations
- Apply and enforce GM Common Controls Standards (GCCS) across all project phases
- Support GM stamping press lines, including press controls, material handling, destackers, conveyors, and safety systems
- Participate in controls architecture development, I/O mapping, network design, and system documentation
- Commission and debug controls systems during offline testing, installation, launch, and production support
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of Controls Engineering experience in automated manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of GM Common Controls Standards (GCCS)
- Experience supporting GM projects in stamping or other manufacturing areas using GCCS
- Proficiency with PLC platforms (Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley preferred)
