Job Description

Huron Gastro, P.C. is an adult medical gastroenterology practice specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of disorders that affect the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), rectum, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas. Our practice includes 24 physicians who are board-certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, 10 Advanced Practice Providers, 1 Pharmacist and an outstanding staff of clinical and administrative personnel.

Huron Gastro has opened a pharmacy at their main office. It is a specialized pharmacy serving the patients of Huron Gastro and we are committed to providing exceptional pharmaceutical care, focusing on gastrointestinal health. Our team will collaborate closely with the healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The Huron Gastro Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service to our patients as well as doing hybrid work within the surgery center located within Huron Gastro’s main office.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensure – valid State of Michigan Board of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Technician License Required
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting preferred
  • Experience with Pioneer Computer Software helpful
  • Expeditious and accurate data entry
  • Experience navigating through an EHR/EPM system helpful
Position Skill Set
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Proficient in pharmacy software systems
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
Responsible for
  • Assist pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications
  • Count, label, and package medications accurately
  • Accurately enter prescription and patient information into pharmacy software
  • Verify insurance coverage
  • Obtain prior authorizations
  • Customer service
