As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Estimator to help advance our growth, strengthen our supply chain, improve operations and profitability, and embody the values that define Orange Aluminum.
Estimator is a critical role responsible for procurement and cost estimation. This dual-role position requires a detail-oriented and highly organized individual with a strong understanding of procurement processes and cost estimation in a manufacturing environment. The role involves sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and preparing accurate cost estimates for customer projects. The Estimator works closely with the sales team and vendors to ensure efficient operations and competitive pricing.
Key Responsibilities- Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Analyze extrusion, finishing, and fabrication costs to determine project pricing.
- Work closely with the sales team to provide timely and well-documented estimates and proposals to customers.
- Maintain and update cost databases and pricing tools to ensure consistent estimating practices.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in extrusions or processes during estimating phase.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to procure value-added service quotes at the best possible cost, service, and quality.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply and service.
- Track and report on purchase orders, delivery timelines, and vendor performance.
- Collaborate with sales and suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Review and approve invoices related to orders and suppliers managed.
- Liaise between purchasing, engineering, and sales departments to align project and procurement requirements.
- Support in identifying and resolving issues related to cost discrepancies or supply chain disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier quotes, and estimate worksheets.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations regarding procurement and costing.
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business, supply chain, or engineering preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing, estimating, or a similar role in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and estimating tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
