Substitute Special Education Instructional Assistant
The substitute instructional aide works under the direction of a teacher on an "as needed basis" and is available during the days and school hours children are in attendance (approx. 7:45 - 3:00) Monday through Friday. The Substitute Instructional Aide will work on call for the entire instructional school year, and following the summer recess, the next school year. All required/requested documents must be submitted (uploaded) with your application.
If 48 semester college units is lacking, please schedule an appointment to take the District's Instructional Aide proficiency exam prior to the closing date.
Thank you for your interest in joining the Whittier City School District as a Substitute Special Education Instructional Assistant for the 2026–2027 school year. Applications are now being accepted; however, the Human Resources Department will begin contacting selected applicants in late June 2026. WCSD is planning a hiring fair to assist with streamlining the hiring process. Invited applicants will be able to complete a mini interview and fingerprinting during the event.
Fingerprinting services will be provided by the District at no cost to the applicant.
