Heavy Equipment Technology Instructor, Part‑Time

This part‑time/temporary instructor position is part of a continuous recruitment pool. Faculty are hired on an as‑needed basis to teach courses in the Heavy Equipment Technology discipline the college schedules (day, evening, weekday, weekend, or online).

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in Heavy Equipment Technology in accordance with the college’s policies and California Education Code.
  • Serve as a member of the faculty with the same professional responsibilities and duties as other community‑college faculty.
  • Commit to professional excellence, continuous growth, and development of students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Any bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related professional experience, or
  • Any associate’s degree and at least six years of related professional experience, or
  • The equivalent, defined as: high‑school diploma plus college coursework in the discipline, plus eight years of occupational experience at or above journeyman level, plus appropriate certification or licensure.

Applicant qualifications that demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community‑college students are required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Teaching experience in automotive/diesel‑heavy equipment courses.
  • ASE‑Manufacturers’ Certifications and related certificates/licenses.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student populations.
