Basic Function

Under the direction of the Superintendent/President, the Assistant Superintendent/Vice President of Academic Affairs serves as the Chief Instructional Officer and leads the planning, development, and implementation of instructional programs. The Vice President/Assistant Superintendent of Academic Affairs provides leadership, direction, and support in delivering instructional programs and services; assumes responsibility for personnel and personnel practices in academic areas; oversees operational services and activities;

and works effectively with outside agencies. May assume the responsibility of the Superintendent/President in the absence of the Superintendent/President, in accordance with Board Policy 2432.

Minimum Qualifications
