About the role:

An Enrichment Coordinator oversees the delivery of an assigned LEARN program or programs. This position may oversee the Saturday Enrichment program at multiple school sites (K – 12) or the Enrichment Friday program (select dates), in addition to overseeing the assignment of Substitute Youth Leaders on a daily basis and assisting with the delivery of all other LEARN programs intended to encourage a culture of learning by providing students with the knowledge, skills, and resources for academic and personal success.

Programming may occur inside or outside of the classroom on Fridays or Saturdays, depending on the assigned program. Activities may include tutoring, personal enrichment, life skills, recreation, planning of on site and off site study trip experiences, and other activities that facilitate success.

An Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversight of programming for either the Enrichment Friday Or Saturday Enrichment programs including the supervision of Site Coordinators, Youth Leaders, and other organization staff who work directly with students. Under supervision from a Program Quality Supervisor or a Manager of Curriculum and Staff Development, an Enrichment Coordinator trains and evaluates staff, and works closely with school administration, faculty, parents, and students to ensure that programming meets the needs of the school and its students as well as the policies of the California and/or Federal Department of Education.

Distinguishing Features

An Enrichment Coordinator works primarily at the main office. Programming that an Enrichment Coordinator oversees typically occurs during select non-school days from 4 to 9 hours per day and involves academic support, project-based, hands-on engaging enrichment activities, reading, physical activities and a variety of other skills and confidence-building activities that students engage in. Daily programming that requires Youth Leader Substitute support occurs after-school for 3 to 4 hours and involves academic support, enrichment activities, structured physical activities, and a variety of other skills and confidence-building activities for students.

What You'll Do

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the general operation of Enrichment Friday or Saturday Enrichment programming at designated LEARN partner schools;
  • Develop and foster positive relationships with school administration, faculty, staff, parents, other partner staff, and students;
  • Plan and coordinate an enrichment program with input from district administration, partner agencies, ASB students, teachers, parents, counselors, and Title I Coordinators via a program Advisory Board.
  • Develop staffing plan to implement programming;
  • Supervise Youth Leaders including performance monitoring and evaluation, recommendations for hiring, and providing direct input to staff disciplinary decisions;
  • Monitor expenses regularly to ensure that the program costs remain within the program budget;
  • Regularly meet with teachers, principals, and other instructional-day staff to align activities with the students' instructional-day curriculum or to ensure that activities align with the interests and goals of the students;
  • Ensure that student attendance is accurately recorded and reported and meets program plan goals and grant guidelines;
  • Work with district staff, school staff, parents, and students to recruit students to attend programs;
  • Ensure that Youth Leaders record their time and submit all required paperwork accurately and timely;
