Imaging Coordinator

Duration: 3 Months contract

Shift: AM Hours Monday – Friday 6:30am – 3:00pm

• Safeguards and preserves the confidentiality of patient’s protected health information in accordance with State and Federal (HIPAA) regulatory requirements, hospital, and departmental policies.
• Ensures a safe patient environment and adherence to safety practices per policy.
• With consideration to age, employee utilizes the approved process to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs of patient/significant other when administering care.

• Be proficient on exporting, importing, validating, and integrating non-electronic health information images to applications and/or databases.
• Be proficient with merging multiple files as one file and identifying discrepancies within the electronic file before releasing it to application.
• Transporting non-electronic health information images from various shared media to designated application and/or database.
• Work closely with internal clinical areas to locate and retrieve missing non-electronic health information records.
• Work closely with external contacts to reconcile missing non-electronic health information records, coordinate, and validate all images were received.
• Make corrections of mis-identified images that resides in applications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2 years minimum of related acute care health information management experience that includes working with electronic health records applications and/or databases.
• Experience with converting files to PDF, TIFF, or JPEG.
• Preferred: RHIT/RHIA credential

• Keyboarding skills
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology
• Advanced computer knowledge, demonstrated experience including working in multiple systems, Excel spreadsheets to include formatting, merging of cells, etc.
• Knowledgeable with PDF, TIFF, and JPEG files
• High attention to detail
• Able to export and save files into different formats
• Able to merge and/or link files
  
  Able to follow Title 22, CIHQ, Medical Staff Bylaws and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations and other regulatory requirements.
