Straightening Worker

Straightening Worker uses a variety of tools and machinery to straighten steel, stainless steel and aluminum castings.

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Retrieves, stores and maintains calibration status.
  • Interprets technique for instructions on straightening of castings.
  • Uses measuring tools and machinery such as calipers, ice tongs, height gauges, indicators, surface plates, fixtures, hammers/mallets, pin gauges, radius gauges, feeler gauges, press, and high temperature oven.
  • Verifies calibration status of measurement equipment prior to use.
  • Verifies router to confirm prior, current and next operation.
  • Checks in/out work in process operations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. In this position employee is required to wear the following Personal Protective Equipment: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes. Per task: heat protective gloves, heat protective polarized face shield, heat protective coat, and heat protective sleeves.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

- Hours are from 7:00am - 3:30pm
- Monday through Friday
- Saturday Overtime Work required depending on department demands
