Position: LVN/LPN - $28.00 to $34.00

Position Overview

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following the developed care plan and physicians’ orders while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Salary & Hours

Pay: $28–34 per hour. Full‑time (Mon–Fri), with additional night shifts and flexible scheduling (full‑time, part‑time, or PRN).

Location:

Orange, CA.

Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for the delivery and coordination of quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
  • Continuously observe and assess patient condition and care needs, reporting changes to supervisor and/or physician as appropriate.
  • Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care promptly whenever care is delivered.
  • Participate in, implement, and update the nursing care plan.
  • Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Recognize changes in patient needs that require intervention and implement care to prevent or reduce risk.
  • Accept responsibility for personal and professional accountability by complying with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide care utilizing infection control measures that protect staff and patient according to OSHA standards.
  • Educate the patient and family regarding disease processes, self‑care techniques, and prevention strategies in order to meet nursing needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of nursing competencies by participating in continuing education and internal learning programs.
Qualifications
  • Active, unencumbered LVN license.
  • Current CPR certification with hands‑on component.
  • TB skin test current within the last 12 months.
  • Twelve (12) months of prior hands‑on nursing experience.
  • Reliable transportation.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care policies and procedures.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • State‑specific requirements:
    • South Carolina – one year of pediatrics experience.
    • California – one year of experience under current nursing license.
    • Louisiana – one year of experience as a licensed nurse.
  • Continuing education as required by state.
Preferred Experience
  • At least six (6) months of recent experience as a licensed nurse in a clinical care setting.
  • Home health experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Attention to detail.
  • Time management.
  • Effective problem‑solving and conflict resolution.
  • Good organization and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Must speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must lift 50 pounds.
  • Must reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
  • Must perform prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.
  • Must sit and climb stairs.
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity.
  • Must have a strong sense of smell and touch.
  • Must respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport.
Environment
  • Must function in a variety of environments, possibly exposing to allergens and other conditions.
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
