Registered Nurse; RN), CWOC, Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse, Quality Management

Provide care for individuals who have, or will have, a diverting ostomy. Provides wound and skin evaluation and care. This specialized nursing care is given independently and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. Functions as an educator for patients/significant others and staff. Precepts staff and students in the specialty.

• Principles and methods of adult education.
• Refined written and verbal communication.
• Expertise in clinical performance as demonstrated in use of nursing process.
• Clinical competence.
• Ability to plan, organize, control and evaluate.
• With consideration to age, utilizes the approved process to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational and environmental needs of patient/significant other when administering care.
• Computer skills.

Required:

• Graduate from accredited school of nursing
• BSN degree
• Current California RN license
• Evidence of continuing education and self-development in both specialty and Medical Surgical Nursing.
• Minimum of two (2) years current clinical experience in acute care setting.
• Demonstrated teaching ability in formal and clinical setting.

Preferred:

• MSN degree preferred.
• Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse Certification preferred. Wound, Ostomy Nurse Certification required within one year of hire.
