Nurse Practitioner - Certified Wound Care; Clinic-

Education:

Master's Degree

Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing (SBON) in the state(s) where the nurse practices. Board certified and licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the state(s) where the Nurse Practitioner practices.

Completion of a WOCN Society-accredited educational program and current certification by the WOCNCB in wound care, including one of the following:

• CWCN
  - Certified Wound Care Nurse
• CWON
  - Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse
• CWOCN
  - Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse

• WCC
  - Wound Care Certified through the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy
• CWS
  - Certified Wound Specialist through the American Board of Wound Management

Nurse Practitioner:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a wound-related Nurse Practitioner role with one of the following

• Three (3) years of experience as a CWCN, CWON, or CWOCN
• Five (5) years of experience as a WCC or CWS

• Provide in-person evaluation and management visits for patients with acute and chronic wounds and related skin disorders within a defined geographic area traveling to different clinic locations throughout the week
• Perform medically necessary debridement and procedures within the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice and applicable CMS, payer, state, and federal guidelines to promote healing and prevent complications.
• Estimated time spent providing in-person care is approximately 80%, although this may vary based on patient and program needs.
• Work with a Medical Assistant when applicable and delegate appropriate tasks to the Medical Assistant consistent with the MA's training, competency, role, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide appropriate clinical direction to the Medical Assistant while maintaining responsibility for clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment decisions, orders, procedures, and other functions requiring the Nurse Practitioner’s professional judgment.
• Utilize the Medical Assistant to support efficient patient care, including appropriate clinical support, wound photography, dressing-related tasks, supplies, patient preparation, and other delegated responsibilities.
• In-person productivity forclinic visits averages six (6) per day or thirty (30) visits per week subject to patient acuity, clinic scheduling, program requirements, administrative responsibilities and other operational factors.
• Productivity expectations are based on actual working days and may be adjusted for PTO, holidays, sick time, orientation, training, meetings, administrative responsibilities, or other company-approved activities.
• Flexibility is expected to increase productivity during periods of high demand, including weeks preceding or following planned PTO or other anticipated staffing needs.
• Provide evaluation and management visits via telehealth, virtual care, or digital monitoring modalities for patients with acute and chronic wounds and related skin disorders. Estimated time spent providing virtual care is approximately 20% in addition to the applicable in-person productivity standard.
• Support the company overall by completing patient assessments during periods of high demand for virtual/telehealth assessments in other geographic areas and within states in which the provider is licensed.
• Obtain additional state licensure when requested by The Wound Company and when reasonably necessary to support company programs. The Wound Company will cover approved licensing expenses.
• Follow appropriate infection prevention protocols and procedures for the handling of contaminated equipment, dressings, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
