Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Hospital Patrol Driver in Whittier, CA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will complete routine rounds, stay highly visible, and help identify and report security‑related concerns. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license and alignment with AU Driver Policy Requirements, as you may patrol across designated areas.
You will support staff, patients, and visitors with strong communication and customer service, living Allied Universal values through integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by following Allied Universal procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of hospital corridors, waiting areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify security‑related concerns.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor guidance, way finding, and basic badge and/or credential checks as directed by site policies.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including disturbances, medical area support requests, and/or unauthorized persons, and notify site leadership and/or emergency services as appropriate.
- Document patrol activity, incident details, and observed hazards using required reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate updates to incoming shifts and site contacts.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
- Guard card or license preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
