Community Support Specialist

Full Time – Whittier, CA, US

Salary Range: $24.00 to $27.00 per hour

Day Shift: Mon–Fri 8:30am–5:00pm;
Sat occasionally;
Sun off

Qualifications
  • A high‑school diploma or GED and minimum age of 18 years
  • A bachelor’s degree in psychology, behavioral science, social services, or related discipline, or at least four years of relevant experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, dual diagnoses, or forensic involvement
  • A current driver’s license and California automobile insurance for use of a personal vehicle to drive to community locations
  • Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English (bilingual in English/Spanish preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake assessments, interview new participants and family members, determine needed services, organize schedules and appointments, and maintain open communication with stakeholders (participants, parents, conservators, agencies, employers)
  • Complete daily case notes, quarterly progress reports, and share recommendations for the participant’s Service Plan based on personal insights
  • Advocate for participants in court proceedings as part of the Judicial Intervention and Diversion Compliance Program
  • Build community partnerships to enhance available resources for participants and improve access to community, physical, and mental‑health services
  • Participate in all required training, team, and company meetings to grow skills and knowledge; promote from within
  • Model and coach others in the company’s C.A.R.E. values (compassion, adaptability, respect, empowerment)
  • Receive ongoing coaching and performance feedback, and be recognized for contributions and adherence to C.A.R.E. values
