Braun Intertec is seeking an Operations Supervisor for its Construction Materials Testing (CMT) operations in the Wichita Falls, TX office.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of technicians and special inspectors to complete field work.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, training, and assist with hiring of staff.
  • Conduct scheduled performance reviews and prepare subordinates for promotional opportunities.
  • Assist office leadership in developing and implementing CMT policies, best practices, and setting direction for the CMT group.
  • Perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
  • Prepare complete and accurate daily reports on observation activities in a timely fashion.
  • Support the company safety policy, communicate and implement safe work practices, and perform safety audits of field staff as needed.
  • Work closely with the Business Unit Manager to execute on goals and business objectives.
  • Coordinate with scheduler and other regional operations for resource sharing and workload management.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of assigned personnel on an ongoing basis through client contact.
  • Prepare proposals in collaboration with consulting staff representatives.
  • Perform quality control review of testing and inspection work performed by assigned staff; identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues.
  • Maintain field and laboratory equipment, including calibrations and accreditation-related activities.
  • Assist in managing local fleet vehicles, including planning, maintenance, and stewardship.
  • Collect and communicate business intelligence gathered during service delivery.
  • May make extended stays at job sites as required.
Required Skills

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, often on short notice.
  • Excellent construction document reading and interpretation skills.
  • Understanding and experience performing field testing and special inspections related to soils, concrete, and masonry in commercial and public projects.
  • Computer aptitude and adaptability to company systems.
Required Experience and Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent minimum; technical school or college coursework a plus.
  • ACI Field Level I Certification required.
  • Nuclear Density Gauge Certification required.
  • Experience in materials testing or construction.
  • Relevant post‑secondary degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in materials testing or construction.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of safety matrices and expectations.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain required ICC certifications within a reasonable timeframe.
