Position Title:
High School Government & Economics Teacher
Vernon Independent School District is accepting applications for a High School Government & Economics Teacher.
Primary
Purpose:
Provide students with instruction in Government and Economics in accordance with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
* Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate Social Studies certification
* Knowledge of subject matter and instructional strategies
* Ability to manage student behavior and maintain classroom discipline
Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver effective instruction in Government and Economics
* Evaluate and document student academic progress
* Establish and maintain a positive learning environment
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
* Comply with district and state policies and procedures
