Life Skills Paraprofessional

Purpose:

Assist the Life Skills teacher in providing instructional support and personal care to students with disabilities. Help create a positive, structured learning environment that supports student growth, independence, and success.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED required

* Must meet requirements for Educational Aide certification

* Experience working with students with special needs preferred

* Ability to work well with students, staff, and parents

Major

Responsibilities and Duties:

* Assist the teacher with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)

* Provide instructional support in small group and one-on-one settings

* Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment

* Assist students with daily living skills, including personal care if needed

* Support students during transitions, including arrival, dismissal, and movement throughout campus

* Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources as directed

* Maintain confidentiality of student information

* Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

* May involve lifting, positioning, or assisting students with mobility

* Work in a classroom setting with students who may have varying physical and behavioral needs
