Overview
Controls Engineer role focusing on designing, developing, and optimizing control systems for advanced HVAC and air handling equipment in a manufacturing environment. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through production and manufacturing release, with visibility to engineering leadership and cross-functional teams. The role offers the opportunity to shape automation logic, improve product performance, and influence future product design and innovation within a stable, growth-oriented organization in the DFW area.
Responsibilities- Design and develop control systems for HVAC and air handling equipment using Schneider Electric platforms.
- Create and modify PLC-based automation logic, including ladder logic and function block programming, to support equipment operation and automation.
- Develop detailed wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, assembly instructions, and test plans to guide manufacturing and ensure product quality.
- Build user interfaces and dashboards for system monitoring, diagnostics, and control to enhance usability and visibility into system performance.
- Support product development from initial concept through manufacturing release, collaborating closely with engineering and production teams.
- Conduct troubleshooting and validation testing of control systems to identify issues, verify performance, and ensure reliable operation in the field.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to identify and implement design improvements that enhance functionality and manufacturability.
- Ensure control systems comply with applicable electrical and safety standards, including UL, NEC, and CSA requirements.
- Professional experience in controls engineering or automation, working with industrial control systems.
- Experience with HVAC equipment or similar electromechanical systems in an engineering or automation capacity.
- Strong experience in PLC programming, including ladder logic and function block programming for industrial controls.
- Experience with Schneider Electric control platforms for developing and implementing automation solutions.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as BACnet and Modbus for integrating HVAC and building automation systems.
- Schneider PLC experience
Permanent position based out of Wichita Falls, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 per year.
WorkplaceThis is a fully onsite position in Wichita Falls, TX.
