Facilities Technicians perform a variety of journey level or higher carpentry, custodial, maintenance, grounds keeping, and/or utility tasks. This position is assigned to General Carpentry. Installs, replaces, and maintains a variety of structures, equipment, and/or grounds, which may include: changing and putting up lights; checking support equipment, which includes water lines, heating and cooling systems, and/or other related items; checking equipment fluid levels; assembling and moving furniture; and/or, performing other related activities.
Performs general or specialized construction, maintenance, and repairs on facilities, grounds, and/or equipment; prepares related materials lists.
Operates a variety of specialized tools and equipment, including a variety hand and power tools and/or other related tools and equipment.
Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs malfunctioning equipment.
Performs various manual labor duties, which includes: setting up for special events; assisting with construction and/or modification activities; constructing signs; and/or, performing other related activities.
Inspects facilities and grounds to identify and resolve potential safety hazards.
Maintains documentation for work orders.
Monitors supply inventory; orders required supplies when inventory levels meet established guidelines.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Positions assigned to General Carpentry may be responsible for:
- Repairing and replacing drywall;
- Repairing windows and screens;
- Repairing doors and furniture;
- Participating in remodeling projects.
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), and up to one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school; and at least two years of experience in area of specialty (carpentry, maintenance, senior level utility work, HVAC, electrical, locksmith), or related area; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Valid Wyoming Driver’s License and acceptable driving record;
