Quality Inspector

SUMMARY

Shift: Nights (6:45pm-7:00am). Responsible for all aspects of quality to maintain quality standards set by the Company. This person is responsible for all Quality Assurance testing of finished product in accordance with North American Pipe’s standard procedures.

• Performs a variety of physical testing of product, including rubber ring testing, impact, quick burst, flattening, brabender, long term testing and all other required QA testing.
• Completes paperwork and reports as needed.
• Uses a variety of tools and instruments to assess and inspect product.
• Checks the quality of finished goods, including those loaded for delivery, and returned goods for acceptance to stock.
• Reviews stocked pipe periodically and identifies damaged product to be removed from inventory.
• Maintains area to be clean and free from safety hazards.
• Other duties may be assigned to assist in daily plant operations.

High School Diploma or GED.

3 years’ experience or training/education in production and/or quality control.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

This position has a transitioning work environment. Office/computer, manufacturing plant and outdoor environments are normal. The noise level in the plant environment is usually high, as normal for a manufacturing plant. Some of the work in the operating units may require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, fall protection, hard hats, etc.
