Job Summary
Maintenance B Operator for Howmet Aerospace’s Wichita Falls, TX facility. Works independently under general supervision to diagnose, repair, and maintain plant equipment and building.
ResponsibilitiesMUST BE ABLE TO WORK 12‑HOUR ROTATING NIGHT SHIFTS, 7:00 P.M. TO 7:00 A.M. (2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off).
All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a pre‑employment background check and drug screen.
- Must read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions and understand schematics, blueprints, and diagrams to set up and operate equipment.
- Use troubleshooting skills and repair equipment using experience, manuals, and wiring diagrams. Perform basic shop math.
- Apply independent judgment to diagnose equipment problems and determine best repair methods.
- Demonstrate high manual dexterity and mechanical inclination.
- Maintain equipment and keep the department clean and orderly. Clean around repaired areas.
- Use computer for data entry and reporting.
- Comply with all site‑required policies and procedures, including EHS, Quality, Code of Conduct, and the Wichita Falls Employee Handbook.
- Observe robotic and automated equipment to detect malfunctions, reset, re‑home, or repair systems.
- Select proper tools and parts using blueprints, schematics, or diagrams.
- Use testing devices such as leak detectors and electrical instruments.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Comply with all department, facility, corporate, and regulatory EHS regulations.
- Wear required PPE: safety glasses, flame‑retardant clothing, earplugs, metal steel shoes, hard hat, respirator, caustic suit, and other department‑specified gear.
- Report all job‑related illnesses, injuries, safety, health, and environmental concerns to supervisor promptly.
- Attend all EHS training sessions.
Requires manual dexterity, heavy lifting up to 50 lbs, constant walking, standing, carrying, and occasional fine manipulation. Must pass a Jaeger 2 eye exam, be able to grip, pull, push, twist, lift from floor to waist, chest to overhead, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, squat, and reach overhead. Work may involve exposure to nickel, heat, KOH, RCF, noise, oil, dust, fumes, chemicals, heat, cold, and wet conditions.
BenefitsPay rate starts at $29.31 per hour, increasing to $33.88 per hour after 270 days plus a $2.00 shift differential. Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility required. Visa sponsorship not available.
- Access to export‑controlled items; must be legally able to obtain access.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Working knowledge of plant equipment operation and repair.
- Associate degree or technical training is preferred.
- Robot programming experience preferred.
- Schematic and blueprint reading experience preferred.
- Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills.
